BBD DELAY

BBD DELAY takes its name from the analog circuitry called โ€œBucket Brigade Deviceโ€, developed to substitute analog tape delays which were delicate and impractical to transport. This name is an analogy to firefighters passing water buckets along a line from the water source to the fire. In analog circuitry, the input signal was passed from one capacitor to another. Each capacitor took some time to charge and discharge, thus delaying the signal.

BBD DELAY produces a dark delay tone, emulating the sound of analog BBD devices which applied low-pass filters to reduce the unwanted noise generated by the hundreds of capacitors comprising the circuit.
